Well here it is; the second IPL-ing took place a few days ago… I’ve just been lazy, and ranting (yes again) about stupid politicians and lets face it these days there’s a never ending supply of those. But I digress….
Even Wallace & Gromit had a close shave…
As is usual before you go to be IPL’d you have to shave like a blazes the areas that are going to be IPL’d, and being the attentive male I am, I noticed something. There was much less hair to get rid off this time. So I had a cold beer a hot shower and got stuck in. I also noted that the hair re-growth was much slower this time as well.
“Hi. Is that I.T.? This is Micko, I can’t login to this bloody thingy.”
One of the things I really hate about being an IT guy is that because the servers in the office run 24 hours a day, theres an expectation that the support staff should too. I was on-call, and got a phone call at 8:00AM, the problem was that my appointment was at 9:00AM. And unfortunately for me it wasn’t just an idiot who forgot their password. This required me to do some work.
Late.
Half an hour later I was making my way to the bus stop, and 10 minutes after that I was on my way. I arrived half an hour late. The nice girl said that there may not be enough time to do the whole thing (as you’ll recall earlier the first time took about 2hrs). I said lets see what can be done and we’ll make an appointment for what’s missed.
Fast
This time however, it only took an hour and a half! The gel was as cold as ever, the ice packs put me into a cryogenic freeze, but we got through it quickly. The best part was that there was very little redness and no sunburn marks either. I guess that she was using a lower power level, but I wasn’t complaining. This also meant that we didn’t need to give the machine as much of a break as the first time round. It didn’t make any difference to the noise though. Anyway I had a look on the net, and I couldn’t find a picture of the IPL machine used at the place I go to (Which is Essential Beauty on Hay St. in Perth), But its not too dis-similar from this.

Afterwords I thought about going out for a ride, but I decided not too given the advice from the earlier week which was to stay out of the sun for a few days. I figured I was better safe than sorry and played Guild Wars instead.
Third Outing
My next IPL is three weeks away, and that will put me at about the half-way mark for this lot. Apparently the power level will go up next time and I reckon we’ll be doing Warp Factor 6 before too long. Is IPL worth it? We’ll all find out soon enough!
